abstract |
An improved apparatus and method that enables highly accurate photometric measurement with a small amount of liquid and that is easy to manufacture and operate. A method and apparatus for photometric measurement of a liquid sample is disclosed. This method and apparatus can obtain a relatively long optical path length in the measurement chamber by guiding the light beam incident on the measurement chamber using one or more diffractive reflection surfaces and reflecting it in the measurement chamber. The liquid sample to be may be blood or serum. The measurement chamber may be provided in a microfluidic device such as a centrifugal microfluidic device. Some embodiments allow multiplexing of different wavelengths or path lengths. Some embodiments use multiple return beams to determine the position and / or orientation of the measurement chamber.
