abstract A water-soluble coolant sterilization apparatus that consumes less energy, can sterilize water-soluble coolant efficiently, and can extend the life of a light source is provided. A circulation path 62, 63, 64 for circulating the coolant 90 connected to the tank 82, a pump 81 provided in the circulation path 62, and a sterilization unit 10 provided in the circulation paths 63, 64. The fungus unit 10 includes a light-shielding box 11, a translucent tube 14 that is provided inside the box 11 and forms a flow path of the coolant 90, and a photocatalyst is filled on the surface of the tube 14. It has a carrier 15 to be carried and a light source 13 that is provided inside the box 11 and emits light that excites the photocatalyst. Thereby, a photocatalyst is excited suitably and the coolant 90 can be disinfected efficiently. Further, energy consumption can be suppressed and the life of the light source 13 can be extended.
