abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral electric field drive type liquid crystal display element which is imparted with high efficiency and orientation control ability and excellent in resistance to backlight aging of voltage holding ratio. (A) A photosensitive side chain polymer that exhibits liquid crystallinity in a predetermined temperature range, and further includes a side chain having a nitrogen atom to which at least one hydroxyalkyl group is bonded. (B) a polymer composition containing an organic solvent, and a step of applying the composition onto a substrate having a conductive film for driving a transverse electric field to form a coating film; [II] [I] A step of irradiating the coating film obtained in step 1 with polarized ultraviolet light; and a step of heating the coating film obtained in [III] and [II]. The above problem is solved by a method for producing a substrate having a liquid crystal alignment film, which obtains a liquid crystal alignment film for an element. [Selection figure] None |
