PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening the onset or predisposition of developing a colorectal tumor or monitoring the progression of a tumor. Statistical assays have been applied to oligonucleotide microarray data to identify a number of gene transcripts that can be used to distinguish colorectal neoplastic and non-neoplastic tissues. Evaluate the expression level of one or more genes or transcripts selected from these, and a lower level of expression of the gene or transcript compared to the control level is the onset of neoplastic colon cells or neoplastic conditions A method to show predisposing cells.
