Provided are a sample measuring apparatus and a sample measuring method capable of reliably measuring the state of a sample without using a filter. A support body 2 supports a container having at least one first well in which a standard substance is accommodated and a plurality of second wells in which a measurement object is accommodated. The imaging unit 4 captures an image of the entire surface of the container as a color image. The input unit 3a inputs the standard substance concentration in the first well as numerical data. The processing unit 7 generates a calibration curve based on the numerical data corresponding to the color and luminous intensity of the standard substance included in the color image data, and the numerical data of the concentration of the standard substance input from the input unit, and based on the calibration curve, The density of the measurement object included in the color image data is calculated as numerical data.
