abstract | The present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording material which is excellent in heat discoloration property, particularly heat discoloration property of a white paper portion, and has improved surface strength. A support, an undercoat layer containing a pigment and a binder as main components provided on the support, and further containing a cationic substance, and a colorless to light-colored color provided on the undercoat layer. In a heat-sensitive recording material having a heat-sensitive recording layer containing an electron-donating leuco dye and an electron-accepting developer as main components, the pigment contained in the undercoat layer aggregates spindle-shaped primary particles radially. A heat-sensitive recording material, characterized in that it is rosetta-type light calcium carbonate formed by forming secondary particles and has a bulk density of 240 g / L or less.
