Image forming apparatus and image forming method |
abstract |
When adjusting the glossiness of a printed matter by applying a clear ink on an image formed by applying a pigment ink on a recording medium, the glossiness is adjusted to a desired glossiness while suppressing gloss unevenness. An inkjet recording apparatus that can be controlled is provided. An ink jet recording head is used to apply a pigment ink on a recording medium to form an image, and then apply a plurality of clear inks having different gloss levels to the recording medium. The application amount of the plurality of clear inks is controlled by the clear ink application control means. The clear ink application control unit controls the glossiness of the printed matter by changing the usage ratio of the plurality of clear inks to the recording medium based on the glossiness input to the apparatus. Further, the clear ink application control unit controls the application amount so that the coverage of the clear ink is approximately 100%. As a result, gloss unevenness can be suppressed and a printed matter having a desired glossiness can be obtained. [Selection] Figure 2 |
