Monoclonal antibodies against human tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) are provided. An isolated monoclonal antibody that binds to a human tissue factor pathway inhibitor comprising a heavy chain comprising a specific amino acid sequence, wherein the amino acid sequence comprises one or more amino acid modifications. An isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding a monoclonal antibody that binds to TFPI. A pharmaceutical composition comprising an anti-TFPI monoclonal antibody and a method of treating a deficiency or deficiency in coagulation by administration of said antibody.
