abstract A packet-based network architecture that supports distributed and dynamic mobility management (DMM). A processor of a wireless transceiver unit (WTRU) is coupled to a speaker / microphone, a keypad, a display / touchpad and receives user input data therefrom. The processor also outputs user data to a speaker / microphone, keypad, display / touchpad. The processor also accesses information in any type of appropriate memory and stores data therein. Non-removable memory includes RAM, ROM, hard disk, or any other type of memory storage device.
