Disclosed is a liquid crystal composition capable of lowering a phase transition temperature TCN from a crystal phase to a nematic phase, having good orientation, and capable of suppressing occurrence of phase separation. A liquid crystal comprising a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having a molecular weight of 540 or more capable of exhibiting reverse wavelength dispersive birefringence, and a (meth) acrylate compound having an SP value of less than 19.0 and having a molecular weight of 220 or more and less than 540.
