abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing a cellulose-containing solid capable of obtaining a cellulose-containing solid having excellent saccharification, and a method for producing glucose from which glucose is obtained from the cellulose-containing solid. The method for producing a cellulose-containing solid according to the present invention comprises, in a mixed solvent of water and at least one alcohol selected from aliphatic alcohols having 4 to 8 carbon atoms, plant-based biomass under the following conditions. A cellulose-containing solid material is obtained by solid-liquid separation after the treatment.
