abstract Microporous polyamideimide membranes and methods for their production are disclosed. The microporous membrane includes a polyamideimide polymer, which has a certain HFE bubble point and a certain IPA flow time. The microporous membrane has an HFE bubble point of about 25 psi to about 200 psi and an IPA flow time of about 400 seconds to about 40,000 seconds. Another microporous polyamideimide membrane comprises a polyamideimide polymer, which has an HFE bubble point of about 25 psi to about 200 psi. The membrane is asymmetric and has a dense layer with a thickness of <10 microns. A filtration and purification apparatus incorporating such an apparatus is also disclosed.
