A treatment is described that includes the steps of: (a) injecting a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition into the celiac artery of an individual, the pharmaceutical composition reverses type 1 diabetes (T1D) immediately after onset . A method of identifying individuals who are responsive to this treatment is also described. Further described is a device containing a pharmaceutical composition for infusion of the pharmaceutical composition into the celiac artery. |
