abstract The present invention relates to a navigation system for navigating an interventional device 11 such as a catheter and an interventional system comprising said navigation system. A position and shape determination unit 13 determines and stores a first position and shape of the interventional device in the organism 9 during a first intervention procedure, such as a first chemoembolization session, and a second chemistry. During the next second intervention procedure, such as an embolization session, a second position and shape of the interventional device in the organism is determined. During the second intervention procedure, the interventional device is navigated based on the stored first position and shape and based on the second position and shape. This makes it possible to consider the path of the interventional device used during the first intervention procedure during the second intervention procedure. In particular, this makes it possible to navigate the interventional device along the same path during the first and second intervention procedures.
