abstract A test strip comprising two electrodes having conductive surfaces inwardly facing each other in a portion of the test strip adjacent to the sample chamber. A pair of spacers are disposed between the electrodes, each adjacent one side of the sample chamber. The electrodes bypass each other at the proximal end of the test strip away from the sample chamber so that the conductive surfaces are facing away from each other and form an electrical contact area of the test strip.
