abstract The present invention relates to a novel glucocorticoid compound. The invention also relates to methods of using these compounds, the synthesis of these compounds, and compositions and formulations comprising said glucocorticoid compounds, and their use. Structure-based design has led to the synthesis of several new glucocorticoids with greatly improved efficacy. Taken together, these results reveal an important structural mechanism of glucocorticoid efficacy and provide a rational basis for developing very potent glucocorticoids.
