abstract An apparatus is provided for automatically venting a beverage by passing oxygen through the beverage, such as red wine, for a set period of time. The apparatus includes an air treatment system that processes the atmosphere to draw the atmosphere and concentrate the oxygen content of the atmosphere to the same degree or even higher than 90 volume percent oxygen. The apparatus includes a controller that automatically controls parameters of the oxygen aeration process, including the time to deliver oxygen enriched air to the beverage, where the time is in accordance with one or more characteristics or quantities of the beverage.
