Electrothermal aerosol delivery system |
abstract |
The present invention relates to an aerosol delivery system for delivering aerosolized pharmaceutical particles to a user including a cartridge and a device configured to receive the cartridge. The cartridge is: a first compartment containing a delivery-enhancing compound source; a second compartment containing a medication source; a vaporizer for heating the medication; and a transfer for transporting the medication from the second compartment to the vaporizer Element. The cartridge may further include an aerosol forming chamber in fluid communication with the first compartment and the second compartment. The apparatus includes: an outer housing; a power source; temperature control means for controlling the temperature of the first compartment of the cartridge; and electronic circuitry configured to control power from the power source to the temperature control means. The electronic circuit is configured to maintain the first compartment of the cartridge at a temperature between about 30 ° C and about 50 ° C. In use, the medicament reacts with the delivery enhancing compound in the gas phase to form aerosolized medicament-containing particles. [Selection] Figure 1b |
