Examples of methods and systems for disinfecting or inactivating spores include applying a fluid to the surface containing the spores; and treating the direct or indirect plasma for some time. In some embodiments, the fluid includes water. In some embodiments, the spore is Clostridium difficile, and in some embodiments, Bacillus Anthracis. In some embodiments, the fluid is a vapor, mist, mist, or aerosol that is activated before or after applying the fluid. Other embodiments of sterilizing or inactivating spores include treating the spores in the fluid for some time with direct or indirect plasma during the processing of the method and applying the antimicrobial agent to the spores. In some embodiments, the antimicrobial agent is an alcohol, a bleach, or an alcohol-based disinfectant. |
