abstract | The present disclosure relates to a method for producing polyester. The process for producing polyester substantially relates to the production of isosorbide oligomers and the production of isosorbide polymers from isosorbide oligomers. The isosorbide oligomer or isosorbide polymer is then copolymerized with the polyester. The copolymerization of the isosorbide oligomer or isosorbide polymer may be performed at any stage of the polyester production. The polyester obtained according to the method of the present disclosure can be used in packaging applications such as the production of packaging materials or packaging containers. Materials or containers obtained from the polyesters of the present disclosure can withstand temperatures of 60-90 ° C. without deformation or shrinkage.
