abstract |
The present invention provides engineered phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) polypeptides and compositions thereof and polynucleotides that encode engineered phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) polypeptides. In some embodiments, engineered PAL polypeptides are optimized to provide reduced catalytic sensitivity to proteolysis and increased resistance to acidic pH levels with enhanced catalytic activity. In some embodiments, the engineered PAL polypeptide has been deimmunized. The present invention also relates to the use of compositions comprising engineered PAL polypeptides for therapeutic and industrial purposes. |
