titleOfInvention | MICROARRAY CONTAINING FINE STRUCTURE CONTAINING NO POLYMER, MANUFACTURING METHOD AND USE METHOD |
abstract | A microprojection array comprising a generally planar base and a plurality of microprojections, the array comprising a therapeutic polymer and a stabilizing excipient. Described herein are microstructures having proximal and distal layers that contain therapeutic molecules, the distal layer providing the mechanical force necessary to penetrate the skin. It does not rely on the presence of structure-forming polymers to provide. Methods of forming the array and using the array are also envisioned. A backing having a first surface and a second surface opposite thereto; and an array of microstructures comprising a plurality of microstructures extending outwardly from the first surface of the backing. Each of the plurality of microstructures comprises a biodegradable distal layer and at least one proximal layer disposed between the distal layer and the first surface of the backing, the distal layer comprising at least one A microstructured device comprising a therapeutic polymer and a stabilizing excipient, wherein at least one therapeutic polymer is present in the distal layer at a concentration of about 30% to 90%. |
