An oxidation catalyst for treating exhaust gas generated by a combustion engine, wherein the oxidation catalyst includes a base material and a catalyst layer, and the catalyst layer includes a first support material, a first noble metal, and a second noble metal. An oxidation catalyst that is disposed on the surface of the substrate and has a non-uniform distribution of the first noble metal in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the substrate. Oxidation catalysts can be used to oxidize carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HCs) and oxides of nitrogen (NO x ) in such exhaust gases. [Selection] Figure 2 |
