titleOfInvention Vascular access device
abstract An access device for placing a medical object in a space within a body includes a needle, a dilator, and a sheath. The dilator can be arranged coaxially and slidable about the needle. The access device can further comprise an inner member disposed between the needle and the dilator. The needle can include a fenestration that is in fluid communication with the space between the needle and the inner member. When the needle punctures the blood vessel, the fenestration allows blood to flow into the space between the needle and the inner member, and provides the doctor or medical professional with a vision of the needle being in the blood vessel. Provide a useful indicator.
