titleOfInvention Patient accessible patient heating device
abstract A patient accessible patient warming device for maintaining normal body temperature and / or treating hypothermia is provided. The device includes a first flexible layer sealed around an outer boundary so as to contain a liquid between two layers and to form a wrap configured to fit around a body part of a patient. And a second flexible layer. A plurality of flaps extend from opposite sides of the generally longitudinal center of the wrap, and one or more flaps from the opposite sides are secured together to surround the body part. During functional use, the flaps can be opened and closed, providing access to the underlying patient body surface. A continuous fluid flow path extends between the first flexible layer and the second flexible layer between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet to carry liquid and transfer heat through the wrap.
