abstract The present invention provides a polypeptide for use in the suppression or treatment of osteoporosis, wherein the polypeptide expresses the SNARE protein and a non-cytotoxic protease capable of cleaving the SNARE protein in enterochromophilic cells. A targeting moiety (TM) capable of binding to the binding site on enterochromophilic cells that can be incorporated into endosomes in enterochromophilic cells by endocytosis, and enterochrome from within endosomes through endosomal membranes A translocation domain capable of translocating the protease into the cytosol of an affinity cell. However, the polypeptide is not a clostridial neurotoxin (holotoxin) molecule.
