abstract | Systems and methods are provided for determining an individual's correlation coefficient and using the individual's correlation coefficient to determine the individual's caloric intake. A method for determining an individual's correlation coefficient determines body composition over a calibration period, converts the change in body composition into a corresponding energy value, and converts the corresponding energy value to a net value in the same calibration period. The net caloric value includes a value obtained by subtracting the caloric intake from the calorie consumption. A method for determining subsequent caloric intake converts the change in body composition into a corresponding energy value, divides the corresponding energy value by the individual correlation coefficient, and quotients the calorie consumption of the individual.
