titleOfInvention | Hornless livestock |
abstract | Compositions and methods are provided for producing livestock having an ahorn allele, including transferring the acorn allele into a bovine species without altering other genes or chromosomal parts. Animals can be genetically modified to have no horns. One such process involves introgression of bovine acorn allelic alleles. Thus, livestock breeds are made to accept ahornless alleles without altering other traits of livestock. An embodiment of the present invention is a genetically modified livestock animal comprising a genomic modification from a horned allele to an ahornless allele. |
