The present invention relates to a timepiece component made from a persistent dense phosphorescent ceramic composite that is a sintered compact comprising two or more phases, wherein the first phase is at least one metal oxide. A region that exhibits phosphorescence emission and a non-phosphorescence emission region or an intensity of light emission in other regions, and a metal oxide that includes at least one activating element whose second phase has a low oxidation number. A timepiece component having a surface with a region exhibiting lower intensity phosphorescence. [Selection figure] None |
