Electropolymerization of coatings on electrode materials. |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for reductively polymerizing a vinyl group-based monomer from its solution on the surface of an electrode material. The strong bond allows the second electrode to be coated directly onto the solid polymer electrolyte, thereby incorporating the necessary components for a lithium ion battery cell. At least one initiator species that is easily reduced by accepting electrons from the electrode material but would otherwise not polymerize electrochemically without damaging the applied electrode material or solvent Is included in the electrolytic polymerization deposition solution to allow polymerization of vinylic species. |
