titleOfInvention Potato germination suppression apparatus and method
abstract When storing potatoes, germination growth and saccharification of potatoes are suppressed, and a decrease in yield and commercial value is suppressed. Moreover, the fall of the taste when it is set as processed food is suppressed. A device for suppressing potato growth according to the present invention includes a storage for storing potatoes, and an interior of the storage for adjusting to a temperature range lower than room temperature and capable of suppressing saccharification of the potatoes. A cooler unit; and a discharge lamp provided in the storage for generating vacuum ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 200 nm or less, wherein ozone and radicals generated by the vacuum ultraviolet rays radiated from the discharge lamp are provided in the cooler. It is configured to diffuse into the interior of the storage on an air flow formed by the unit. [Selection] Figure 1
