abstract | Even when a transfer bias is a high duty, a decrease in image density on the leading end side of a recording material is prevented. A transfer bias for outputting a transfer bias to transfer a toner image to a recording material P at a transfer portion N where a belt-like image carrier 31 on which the toner image is carried and a transfer member 404 are in contact with each other. The alternating current component, in which the bias in the transfer direction for transferring the image from the image carrier side to the recording material side and the bias in the direction opposite to the transfer direction are alternately switched, and the direct current component are superimposed, and the alternating current component is in one cycle. Is a superposed bias for which the bias is applied in a reverse direction for more than 50%, and has a predetermined length with respect to the DC component of the superposed bias supplied outside the predetermined length from the leading end of the recording material. The ratio of the DC component of the superimposed bias supplied within the predetermined range is the ratio of the superimposed bias supplied within the predetermined length to the AC component of the superimposed bias supplied outside the predetermined length. It becomes larger than the ratio of the AC component of the. [Selection] Figure 1 |
