abstract The present invention provides a polyimide, a resin film, and a metal-clad laminate having excellent dielectric properties and excellent dimensional stability after heat treatment. I) pyromellitic dianhydride is contained in the total tetracarboxylic dianhydride in the range of 70 to 100 mol%; in all diamines, ii) the two terminal carboxylic acid groups of the dimer acid are Primary aminomethyl group or dimer acid type diamine substituted with amino group is 4 to 8 mol%; iii) 4,4′-diaminobiphenyl is 76 to 92 mol%; iv) represented by formula (2) Polyimide containing the diamine in the range of 4 to 16 mol%.
