An object of the present invention is to provide a positive electrode material for a battery that has a high energy density, can suppress a decrease in discharge capacity even when exposed to high temperatures, and has stable charge / discharge characteristics even in a high temperature environment. Moreover, it is providing the all-solid-state lithium ion battery containing the said positive electrode material for batteries. A positive electrode material for a battery according to the present invention is a positive electrode material for a battery containing a positive electrode active material containing a sulfur atom, and a metalloxane skeleton (Si-O, Ti-O, Zr-O or Al-O).
