[PROBLEMS] To suppress the occurrence of secondary transfer failure and white-out abnormal images. A power supply control unit is configured to grasp a toner adhesion amount per unit area on a surface of an intermediate transfer belt based on image information. As the toner adhesion amount increases, the average potential per unit time in the secondary transfer bias composed of the superimposed voltage and the two peak values in the peak-to-peak range for the toner in the secondary transfer nip. The transfer peak value to which the electrostatic force in the transfer direction from the intermediate transfer belt 31 side toward the sheet conveying belt 41 side is increased is changed to a value for increasing the electrostatic force, and the other reverse peak value is obtained. Is changed to a value that makes the electrostatic force in the direction opposite to the transfer direction smaller. [Selection] Figure 5 |
