abstract An object of the present invention is to improve fuel efficiency by extending the period during which an engine is automatically stopped. In a control apparatus for a vehicle including a starting device that consumes battery power and starts an engine, the engine is automatically stopped (step S1: Yes) and the shift position satisfies a predetermined threshold switching condition. (Step S2: Yes), the voltage threshold included in the engine restart condition is set to a second threshold lower than the first threshold (Step S3) set when the threshold switching condition is not satisfied (No at Step S2).
