abstract Provided is a medical device that prevents a tip portion of a metal layer provided on the outer periphery of an inner layer from protruding from the outer layer. A medical device (catheter 100) includes a long tubular body 10 having a resin inner layer 24 in which a main lumen 20 is formed and a resin outer layer 50 enclosing the inner layer 24, and an outer layer 50. And a metal layer (holding coil 70) covering the outer periphery of the inner layer 24. The metal layer (holding coil 70) extends in the proximal direction toward the distal end of the tubular body 10 and is a shaft of the tubular body 10. Metal wires 70a and 70b wound around the core, and the outer layer 50 includes a first region 501, a second region 502, and a third region 503 from the distal end of the tubular body 10 toward the proximal end. The resin hardness of the second region 502 is higher than the resin hardness of the first region 501 and the resin hardness of the third region 503, and the tip of the metal layer (holding coil 70) is the outer layer 50.
