abstract |
Systems and methods are provided for use in radiation induced radiation therapy. Described herein are systems and methods for positioning a radiation source relative to one or more regions of interest within a coordinate system. Such systems and methods may be used in radiation induced radiation therapy (EGRT) for localized delivery of radiation to one or more patient tumor areas. These systems are gantry movable around a patient area, and comprise a gantry and a controller on which a plurality of positron emission detectors, radiation sources are movably arranged. The controller is configured to identify a concurrent positron annihilation radiation path and position the radiation source to apply a radiation beam along the identified emission path.
