Glass bubbles, composite material thereby, and method for producing glass bubbles |
abstract |
A new glass bubble having high strength is provided. The present disclosure provides a plurality of glass bubbles having an average true density of up to about 0.55 grams / cubic centimeter and a particle size distribution including a median diameter in the range of about 15 micrometers to 40 micrometers. . The hydrostatic pressure at which 10 volume percent of the plurality of glass bubbles is destroyed is at least about 100 megapascals. In some embodiments, the plurality of glass bubbles is a sorted fraction that can be prepared by classifying the second plurality of glass bubbles, wherein the second plurality of glass bubbles is a first fraction. It has glass bubbles having a particle size of up to 10 micrometers at a higher ratio than the plurality of glass bubbles. A composite material comprising a plurality of glass bubbles is also disclosed. [Selection figure] None |
