abstract | A particulate matter combustion catalyst excellent in low-temperature combustibility and a particulate matter combustion catalyst filter using the particulate matter combustion catalyst are provided. A particulate matter combustion catalyst includes Cs 2 MoO 4 or K 2 MoO 4 and a composite oxide containing cesium, aluminum, and silicon. The particulate matter combustion catalyst filter includes the particulate matter combustion catalyst and a filter that supports the particulate matter combustion catalyst. And a filter consists of either a silicon carbide base material, a cordierite base material, and a metal base material, and also is a wall through type or flow through type filter. Since such a particulate matter combustion catalyst can shift the combustion start temperature to a low temperature side, it is possible to suppress thermal degradation of the catalyst.
