titleOfInvention | Offset printing paper |
abstract | Provided is a paper coating composition which is used in the production of offset printing paper having excellent white paper gloss, printing gloss and printing strength, and which is excellent in fluidity, water retention, coating property and the like. The present invention is a paper coating composition for offset printing paper containing pigment, PVA and aliphatic conjugated diene copolymer particles, and the pigment contains 50 to 100% by mass of calcium carbonate. , PVA has a viscosity of a 4% concentration aqueous solution according to JIS K6726 of 20 mPa ยท s or less, and the content is 0.2 to 5.0 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the pigment. The copolymer particles are derived from 30 to 65% by mass of units derived from an aliphatic conjugated diene, 1 to 8% by mass of units derived from an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and other monomers copolymerizable therewith. The particles are copolymer particles (average particle diameter: 60 to 180 nm) composed of 27 to 69% by mass, and the content is 4 to 12 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the pigment.
