abstract |
The present invention provides a rare earth oxide-supported noble metal catalyst having high catalytic activity and capable of synthesizing ammonia under mild conditions and having greatly improved ammonia generation activity per catalyst weight and amount of supported metal. A catalyst according to the present invention is characterized in that ruthenium is supported on a praseodymium oxide support in a layered manner. The catalyst of the present invention is obtained by calcining a praseodymium oxide precursor in the order of low temperature, intermediate temperature and high temperature to form praseodymium oxide, stirring this together with a ruthenium source in a solvent, removing the solvent and calcining.
