Intravaginal imaging device, system and method |
abstract |
The use of a speculum with an external light source has undesirable characteristics such as excessive enlargement of the vaginal wall not only around the cervix, but over the entire length of the vagina. Housed in an elongated housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end has a sealed end cap window, an objective lens disposed behind the window having a first lens group 240 and a second lens group 241 configured to focus on the object, behind It includes an image detector 207 that is arranged and an LED light source configured to illuminate the object. A connection in communication with the image detector is located at the proximal end. The connecting unit is configured to transmit an image from the image detector to an external device. The intravaginal imaging device is configured for use with a speculum, in which case the intravaginal imaging device is inserted into the speculum jaws and placed in the speculum spacer.
