abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a production method for efficiently removing a metal catalyst used in the production of a polymer and purifying the polymer efficiently. A method for producing a polymer in which a metal catalyst is removed by adding a compound capable of complexing with a metal catalyst to a polymer solution containing the metal catalyst to form a metal complex. In particular, it is preferable that the metal catalyst has been subjected to catalyst deactivation treatment, and further, a compound capable of forming a complex is added, and then the formed metal complex is removed by filtration.
