titleOfInvention Ultrasonic shear wave imaging with focused scanline beamforming
abstract An ultrasound diagnostic imaging system and method that enable a user to acquire image data with high enough resolution to measure the velocity of a shear wave. An image of shear wave velocity is generated by transmitting push pulses T1 to T5 to generate shear waves. A plurality of tracking lines A1-1 to A1-4 are transmitted and echoes are received by the focused beamformer adjacent to the position of the push pulse. The tracking lines are sampled in a time interleaved manner. The echo data obtained along each tracking line determines the time of peak tissue displacement caused by shear waves at points along the tracking line and the time of peaks at adjacent tracking lines and compares them. Processed to calculate local shear wave velocity. The resulting map of shear wave velocity values is color coded and displayed on the anatomical image of the region of interest. [Selection] Figure 5
