abstract |
An image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the occurrence of an abnormal image in an image at a rear end portion of a recording sheet. An image carrier 31; a toner image forming unit 1 that forms a toner image on the image carrier; a nip forming member 41 that forms a transfer nip in contact with the surface of the image carrier; and a toner at the transfer nip. A power supply 39 that outputs a transfer bias including at least an AC component for transferring an image to a recording sheet, a control unit 200 that controls the power supply, and a portion of the recording sheet that has entered the transfer nip on the rear end side of the transfer nip.
