abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of achieving five forward speeds and one reverse speed while suppressing the number of clutches. In an automatic transmission according to the present invention, a first carrier and a second ring gear are connected to form a first rotating member, and a first ring gear and a third carrier are connected. A second rotating member, the second carrier and the third ring gear are connected to form a third rotating member, and the four engaging elements are the first sun gear and the second rotating gear.
