abstract |
An optical member using a liquid crystal material having a cholesteric structure, wherein the liquid crystal material exhibits high retroreflectivity in multiple directions. The dot 1 is made of a liquid crystal material having wavelength selective reflectivity and having a cholesteric structure. In addition, this cholesteric structure gives a stripe pattern of a bright part and a dark part in a cross-sectional view of a dot observed with a scanning electron microscope, and the dot 1 has a maximum height in a direction from the end of the dot toward the center. It includes a part having a continuously increasing height, and in this part, the angle formed by the normal of the line formed by the first dark part from the surface of the dot and the surface is in the range of 70 ° to 90 °.
