abstract |
A composite comprising a sulfonated polyester matrix and a plurality of silver nanoparticles dispersed within the matrix. The composite includes a sulfonated polyester matrix; and a plurality of silver nanoparticles dispersed within the matrix. A method for producing these composites comprises heating a sulfonated polyester resin in a solvent free of organic matter; adding a silver (I) ion solution in water to the heated resin to create a mixture; A method of preparing an emulsion of composite particles comprising a sulfonated polyester matrix and a plurality of silver nanoparticles dispersed in the sulfonated polyester matrix by adding a reducing agent solution to the sulfonated polyester matrix.
