abstract | Provided are a curable composition and a hard coat material which can form a hard coat film having a small refractive index difference with a transparent base material and having both pencil hardness and base material adhesion property without heating. A curable composition includes a reactive vinyl monomer (A) represented by the following chemical formula (I), and a polyfunctional (meth) acrylate having a triazine ring and at least two (meth) acryloyl groups in the molecule. While containing the polymerizable monomer which has (B) and an essential component, it further contains a photoinitiator (C). The mass ratio of the reactive vinyl monomer (A) and the polyfunctional (meth) acrylate (B) is A: B = 10: 90 to 50:50. When the content of the polymerizable monomer is 100 parts by mass, the content of the photopolymerization initiator (C) is from 0.1 parts by mass to 20 parts by mass.
